Far-Out Art Images That Will Make You Wonder
Give an artist a Mac with simple software programs like Illustrator, PhotoDelux, and Photoshop programs, throw in a well seasoned imagination and you never know what will get created. Here's how I made these images on my Mac. I was simply working on my 6 year old Mac Performa 6300CD with 64 megs of ram. No magic. It works like an old pack mule and has served me well for 6 years.
The Cosmic Pond
Give an artist a Mac with Illustrator, PhotoDelux, and Photoshop programs and you never know what will get created. I made these images on my good ole Mac. It is not a zoomy computer. It's a 6 year old Performa 6300CD with 64 megs of ram. It works like an old pack mule.

For this I used two images from the Astronomy Picture Of The Day. A shot of the full Moon and a photo of an iridium flash over a sunset sky. For this image I used PhotoShop and Illustrator. I took the Moon image and made seven versions in spectrum colors - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Then, still in Photoshop, I took the iridium flash photo and adjusted the color saturation to its maximum setting. I then opened Illustrator and placed the modified iridium flash photo and the seven Moon images on the page. I made a mask for the Moon image to block out the black background and eye-balled the reduced sizes, placing them in a gentle arch. I created the spectrum border by making a larger box with a rainbow color fill and placing it behind the iridium flash photo. There ya go!

The Pleiades Angle
You can see the Pleides Star Cluster on any clear night. Officially called M45, it's located in the constellation of Taurus, if you know where that is. Again, I copied from the Astronomy Picture Of The Day and imported it into PhotoDelux. I was playing around with the Special Effects filters and happened upon the "Speed" effect. When I turned the image 90 degrees, I realized that it sort of looked like a Cosmic Angel.
