Amazing Images That Will

This photo was taken in Spain in the Silver Mines there! |

I added this just for contrast. This is a photograph of a snowflake crystal. To see the larger version, just click on the image. For more snowflake images, click HERE. |

A friend sent this to me and I thought it was just so unusual and amazing. Interestingly, a few months later I was talking to another friend who was at an air show at the Willow Grove Naval Base in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania during a very humid day in August. He told me that a fighter jet did a fly-by at very high speed and a big saucer shaped vapor dish formed as the jet went by the crowd. It probably looked just like this. |

This is another Astronomy Picture Of The Day. Some photographers specialize in photographing lightning. (Not this photographer!) Arizona is one of the best places in North America to photograph the big cloud-to-ground bolts. I pumped up the color saturation in Photoshop. |

My Aunt sent this to me. I'm sure it's not a photograph, but it sure is cool. It's either a computer generated image or an airbrush rendering. It's kind of frightening to know that there are HUGE chunks of Antarctica that are breaking off and floating north. In 2000, a piece the size of Rhode Island broke off. When this happens, huge shards of ice break off the burg making shipping very hazardous. Also, when the burg melts it pollutes the salt water with fresh water making life in the ocean difficult for sea creatures that only live in salt water. There's a piece the size of France that's cracked and will probably break off in a few years! The cause? Global warming. Nuff said! |

This is another image of the Astronomy Picture Of The Day. It was taken on the top of the mountain on the island of Hawaii. What you are seeing iare the tops of the clouds. The long exposure clearly shows the Milky Way. The brightest "star" is actually the planet Mars. Mars was very close to Earth during the Summer of 2001. During the early evening it sometimes looked like a bright red LED light in the sky. |

I found this on the Art Bell website. This is one of those "look at that shape in the clouds" things. In the upper right of the photo there's a cloud shape of what looks alike an Angel with its wings spread out. I sent this to a friend and he wrote back, "I don't see no Angel!" |
