Namaste All,
I have long since felt that not all of us who have Awakened have done so to become teachers on the big screen of our global spiritual awakening. For most of us, our Dharma, our nitch in the grid, is to be Peace-emitting elements in our surroundings. But just because you have Awakened and are beginning to get an understanding of the larger Cosmic picture, does not mean that we become devoid of our emotions because we are somehow elevated, or above it all. Far, far from it.
We have been rocked to our core. The psychic affects of what happened blasted us on many levels. We are left wondering why and how this could happen. People all over are saying, "Things will never be the same." And that is painfully true. We have been thrown out of our innocence into a more realistic awareness of our world. But I would ask you to remember, and point out to others, that those who are doing these things are very, very few in their numbers. There are over 6 billion souls on the planet, and relatively very few are misbehaving.
I am certain that on the Astral Plane there was tremendous confusion as the victims were forced to deal with what had happened to them. Rest assured, there were legions from the Angelic Realm, as well as spirit guides, friends, and family who had previously passed over, all of whom were there to assist, help, comfort, and guide those who made their sudden transition. This work on the Astral Plane is going on now and will continue for some time. Like spirit activity around and near old battle fields, many of those Souls have not completely comprehended what happened to them and are lost in confusion, pulled this way and that by the psychic messages being pulsed out with every broken heart. This is truly an event of Biblical proportions.
So the question for those of us who have Awakened comes back to this, "What are we to do now? What to do?" I am writing to all of you who know me through Reiki. It seems to me that Reiki attracts people who are very empathetic. We feel deeply and are a little more sensitive to energies than most. That's part of what drew you to Reiki. This certainly is an honorable characteristic, but it can be a double edged sword. Our empathy can be at times overwhelming. It certainly has been that way for me. Sometimes I'll see a picture, or hear a story, or just have a thought about what happened and I well up inside. Wave after wave comes, and the mind begs to know what to do now. That's the question, what to do now?
Well the President has told us to "Go back to work. Go on with your lives." And he is correct. Lately I have been freelancing for "Vette" and "Kit Car Illustrated" magazines doing written feature stories, as well as my regular illustrated features. Last Monday I was talking with one of my editors and I commented that I feel that what I do is so frivolous. You know, it's amazing how when we least expect it, someone can say something that takes maybe 15 seconds, and it makes all the difference in the world. Mike Blake said to me, "I certainly know how you feel. But people's hobbies are important, it's why we work as hard as we do. These things bring pleasure and meaning to people, so it's not a frivolous thing." I still have a heavy heart, but my perspective on my work has been adjusted. And it motivated me to listen for answers to the question, "What do we do now?" Here's what came to me. I'd like to pass these thoughts on to you.
* Remember to "ground" every day. It's a simple thing, so simple that it's easy to forget and not do it. I spend a fair amount of time when teaching a Reiki class, talking about the value of grounding and how it enhances your Reiki experience. When you ground, you are stopping for a moment and setting your intention to step into a sacred energetic space, setting aside whatever else was going on before you began your grounding. A little bit of grounding can go a very long way in keeping you in the moment.
* Since last week's experience hit us where we live, it was a First Chakra experience. The First Chakra is your grounded connection to this reality. When it is shocked like it was last week, it can leave you lost, ungrounded, and has a ripple effect in the higher Chakras. Be aware of this and do whatever you need to do to get aligned again.
* For those of you who have had Reiki II training, use your power and Long Distance symbols. As you tune in to find out what the latest news is, as you experience the reports, and the heartfelt interviews, extend your Ki to the hearts and souls of those you are hearing about or seeing. Use your Long Distance Reiki ability to soothe and comfort those who are dealing with the unspeakable. Aside from actually being in the muck, this is almost as hard as it gets for awakened souls. Rather than allowing yourself to be swept away by the emotion, send the incoming energy into a bowl of salt to be neutralized and then redirect that energy, along with your own Ki, back to the people you are seeing on the news. They WILL receive what you are sending them. They won't know where it came from, but it doesn't matter.
* If you have not had Reiki II training, now might be the time for a Reiki upgrade. In the mean time, hold those dealing with WTC in your heart and in your mind's eye, and surround them with Light and Love.
* One of my teachers, Patricia Diane Cota-Robles, has pointed out many times that as the energy shifts out of the last rays of the Piscean Age and moves into the Aquarian Age, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Expect this and remember what we are reminded of from A Course In Miracles, "You are in the room, to heal the room. You are in the space, to heal the space." By virtue of choosing to awaken, you have accepted the Cosmic responsibility of "being" a Peace Emitting Presence. Patricia also points out that this is the time prophesied in the Bible as "The time of the screaming and gnashing of teeth." There is a lot of upsetness right now, a lot of raw anger, and people who aren't able to control their anger and fear. NOW is the time for US to be Peace Emitting Presences everywhere we go. When you are around others or see others on the TV who are expressing their anger and fear, send them your highest and best thoughts. Surround them with you purest Loving energy. Speak softly and be kind to them and remember that they are lashing out because they are afraid. Again, use your Long Distance Reiki tools.
In a sense, having allowed Reiki into your life is not unlike joining the Reserves. You never know when you'll be pressed into service. Your awakening and your pull towards Reiki was no coincidence. You awakened, to help others awaken. You learned Reiki to help, assist, comfort, and soothe others.
* As dark as it seems, remember Joy. Yes, Joy. Do things so that you may have the experience of Joy. As pointed out in Conversations With God, the best way to have an experience of something, is to cause another to have that exact experience. So be Kind. Be extra patient. Be extra loving to everyone. Remember, we are all family, even those who hate our way of life. In their hearts, they are afraid. It is essential to remember that. If you don't it's easy to fall into your own hatred and fear.
And remember to take care of yourself. If you are having feelings of anguish, let them wash through you. As Ram Dass used to say, "Let it go through you like Chinese food." If you feel like crying, cry. Experience it... and let it go. Experience it... and let it go. Your faith and your focus has probably never been stretched like this before. Remember, "this" is part of why we are here.
As hard as this is, don't forget the old teaching, "And this too shall pass." It always does. One of my teachers used to say, "If you don't like what's going on, just wait... it'll change... it always does." So, be patient. And along the way, especially in the next few weeks and months, do things for yourself to cause you to feel peace and joy. Doing things that bring you into that state of mind will go a long way to enabling you to be a beacon of Light
The World needs our Light now.
So, Be calm...
Be ever vigilant...
Pay attention...
Be Happy...
Reach up, and Remember...
Reach up, and Remember...
Reach up, and Remember...
Namaste...
Scott
3-20-2003: This is a short update.
Since this essay was first published, much has happened. The country is now at war against a third-world nation and our leadership has linked Iraq with the horror of what happened on 9-11. PLEASE.... don't fall for this! The State Department and many in other government agencies are on record stating that there is NO CONNECTION.
But our leadership has insisted so, has been saying so for months, and now has the majority of Americans believing this untruth. DO NOT FORGET that there were NO IRAQI people on any of the three commercial airliners that crashed on 9-11.
And also remember that the tools used that day were NOT exotic "weapons of mass destruction," they were things we all take for granted... commercial airliners. The most dangerous weapon terrorists have against freedom-loving people is HATRED.
DON'T FEED INTO IT.
