| Some Animal Energy Is Good Too
Provided you do not have allergies or are renting a home that does not allow pets, animal pet energy is also a very nice addition to your Inspiration Room. We had a very sweet beagle dog named Buddy who was truly everybody’s buddy. His gentle good nature as well as his friendly "doggy" aroma filled every space he was in, but that’s a dog for you. Buddy regularly spent time with us in the room. Buddy lives on in our hearts, but we still have two cats, eight year old Mittens and 1-1/2 year old Twiggy. The cats LOVE the Inspiration Room. If Twiggy hears the sliding door open, he comes running.
This is Twiggy, the latest addition to our tribe. He was a rescued cat from the local Amimal Welfare Association. He's just a youngster, so he's VERY interested in EVERYTHING. Twiggy has a sweet disposition and is a wonderful addition to the animal energy of our abode.
Unless an animal has been abused or mistreated, they will bring a unique energy to your space. If you treat them with kindness, respect, and gentility, they will give back to you all their love and affection. My dog and cat friends certainly have. Even though they sometimes accidentally break things, eat the wrong things (like leather gloves and cell phone covers), or accidentally pee where they shouldn’t, they never judge you, hold a grudge, criticize, or condemn you. If you love them, they will love you back, thus adding a whole new realm of happiness to your life.

This is Mittins the tuxedo cat. I found him at my front door when he was just a handful-size little kittin while I was living in an apartment complex. He probably accidently got out of someone else's amartment. Since there were hundreds of other apartments in the community, I decided that since he found me, he was mine. Unfortunately, I forgot to give him a flee bath upon his arrival. He was free and so were the flees!
Here's the late, Buddy the beagle. We had Buddy for almost four years. He added a special dog energy that was a delightful surprise to me, as I hadn't had a dog since I was seven years old. He was everyone's friend and always wanted to be with you. Buddy made his transition towards his next adventure in mid-March 2004. He is HUGELY missed and will never be forgotten. He was a good dog-friend.

How You Use Your
Inspiration Room
Obviously there are many ways to use your Inspiration Room. I use my room for reading, journaling, meditation, goal setting, outlining projects, creative thinking and planning. I like to talk with friends and family there. Sometimes I meet with a few of my Reiki Master pals and other assorted metaphysical buds. Because I sometimes spend many hours in front of my Mac computer looking into a bright monitor, there are times in the evening when I like to sit in the dark in my "moon" room and rest my eyes.
Here’s what I advise that you do not do with your Inspiration Room, if you can help it. Don’t use your room as a storage place for your stuff and especially things you bring in from the outside that may have strange or funky energy attached to them. Don’t argue with anyone in your room. Take the argument either outside if you can or to another part of the house. Better yet, don’t immerse yourself in the argument in the first place. Your room doesn’t need the angry energy. If you just can’t help it, after you have calmed down, you might want to clean, cleanse, and recharge your stone friends so that they don’t have to hold the negative energy. Smudging the room again would also be helpful. If you’re grumpy, or worse yet, REALLY angry, go for a walk to let it go. But don’t fill your room up with anger.
Remember, your intention is to create a safe, loving, energetic space where you can relax and allow yourself to be inspired - to experience and get into the "God Spirit Within" space.

This inexpensive water fountain with the light feature was on closeout sale at a local drug store for $5. The gurgling water sounds adds another energetic, soothing aspect to the room.
That's twiggy in the captain's chair. Actually, he's pulling guard duty making sure all's well in his domain.

Buddy wasn't always this patient. Usually he let you know right away that he wanted to come inside, NOW!
Buddy was a sweet, gentle soul. Needless to say, we miss him terribly.

You’re All Set - Start Using It!
We started off this discussion with what Inspiration is and what the experience of being inspired is all about. Prior to discovering this, like most of us, I had thought that inspiration "just happens." Obviously you can’t force it, but you can do things to set up your surroundings so that inspiration can come to you in an easy, relaxed manor. Motivational speaker Earl Nightingale used to like to say, "Ideas are like slippery fish. If you don’t gaff them with the point of a pencil, they’ll get away." That’s why I keep a note pad and several pens close by in my room because you never know when the next fish of inspiration will arrive.
Also keep in mind that creating an inspiration room need not cost a lot of money. We did ours with a used Wal-Mart area rug, yard sale finds, paint, and cool nic-nacs found here and there. The whole point of the endeavor is to create a comfortable space where you can expand your creativity and consciousness.
Remember, when you set your intention and create an environment that is conducive to higher thought, all sorts of wonderful understandings and ideas will easily flow into your awareness. The solution to a long-standing challenge may bubble up into your awareness. You might see in your mind’s eye, a vision of a new creative project. Spiritual understandings may begin to dawn on you.
Much of the new material coming through inspired writers today is explaining to us that we are more powerful than we realize. We are being reminded that our thoughts create our reality and there are easy to use tools for adjusting our thinking and stimulating our higher mental functions.
And don’t forget that an expanded mind is never the same. We’re all in the driver’s seat more than we realize. So get inspired! Have fun with your Inspiration Room and enjoy the fruits of your efforts while digging in the gold mine of your soul!
The End.
