"How Reiki Came Into My Life."
Reiki isn’t a spiritual/psychic power that you can wield like a samurai sword to force reality into your will. Our Life experience flows out of our moment-to-moment decisions about things. You may have to make 16 trillion little decisions before your body produces a heart attack. Or, it can take one decision to change the entire course of your life. However, once things manifest in physical reality, it takes a huge number of thoughts to reverse what’s happened. And sometimes, things aren’t changeable within the time span of our life. However, each of us ALWAYS has a choice as to how we hold the experiences of our life, thus creating lemonade out of lemons.
Everyone comes here with an agenda, a plan for something they are attempting to create, or experience, or helping to create in big and small ways. The hard part is dealing with the fact that as soon as we are here, we tend to forget our plan and objective for being here. The deeper reason why we are instructed to not judge (“Judge not, lest ye be judged.” and “Let the one among you who has NOT SINNED, cast the first stone.”) is because you have no idea what another person is trying to accomplish, create, or experience at their Soul level. Hey! I barely remember MY mission and reason for being here, let alone someone else's! So how can we criticize, judge, and condemn with impunity?
So, I hope that you aren’t expecting Reiki to make you into a wizard with “powers.” If so, you will probably be disappointed. However, when you practice Reiki, amazing things can happen. Eastern metaphysical literature often uses the metaphor of the caterpillar that becomes a butterfly. Until we fully awaken, we’re all like caterpillars, slowly trudging along. If you look for “powers” and “tricks,” you’ll just be a caterpillar that does tricks. The caterpillar faces the death of itself, as it knows itself, up to the point of becoming a chrysalis. Then, the butterfly emerges, and flies.
Because Life is Eternal, there is no end to spiritual understandings and adventures. Shakespeare put the “understandings” part beautifully when he wrote,
“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio...
Than are dreamt of in your philosophies.”
And in the Bible, Christ hinted at the endless “adventures” part with the line,
“There are many rooms in my Father’s mansion.”
I see these insights as directional, not literal. We do amazing things today that were the stuff of dreams not long ago. And couldn’t the “many rooms in my Father’s mansion.” statement be pointing in a direction of many, many lifetimes? The rememberings will never end... the game will never be over.
Someday, all of us will have evolved to the point where things like Reiki and Life Energy will be as second nature as the air we breath. You can’t “see” the air (unless you’re in L.A.) but you don’t doubt that the invisible air is there. You don’t doubt that invisible electrical energies such as infrared light and ultraviolet light aren’t “real” just because you can’t see them (especially if you get shocked or a sunburn). When Reiki and Life Energy is as accepted and understood like air and light, I’m sure that we’ll then become aware of “something else”... more... because there’s no end to Life.
That’s kind of hard to wrap your mind around, I know. In the “Inspirational Tools” Section there’s a chapter titled, “The Spiritual Perspective on the Hubble Space Telescope” that offers a look at what we now know about the vastness of space and the extraordinary size of the physical Universe. Talk about having a tough time wrapping your mind around the idea of Life being endless, wait until we get into the vastness of the cosmos!
For where we are, right now, Reiki is an extraordinary tool. Reiki’s power and elegance come from its simplicity... If you find yourself being seduced by other methods that promise more power or finer energy... keep in mind the “Ki” is...
UNIVERSAL LIFE FORCE ENERGY...
...there is NONE HIGHER... The idea that there is, is the Ego fearing that it has missed something.
There are many other supposed “higher” versions of Reiki that are generally more complicated than “regular Reiki.” But consider this. An elaborate method with many long steps may yield some amazing results. But the outcome is more a matter of the amount of FOCUS and INTENTION... the complexity adds to the focus and intention of the method. Many Earth-based religions like the Native Americans and Wiccans have very elaborate rituals, or spells. These activities sometimes take a long time and require many people to participate. These are extraordinary examples of focused energy and intention. Even the Bible infers this in the line, “Whenever two or more are gathered in my name, I am there.”
Group consciousness can be a powerful force for change in any direction, positive or negative. In the 1930s, a large group consciousness formed in Germany, and the world is still dealing with its effects. In the 1960s a group consciousness started in the West that is quickly awakening the entire planet.
It is my deeply felt belief that Reiki, as well as other energy modalities will go a long way in transforming our experience of Life. Just keep the following ideas in mind.
“FOCUS and INTENTION” are KEY to powerful results when practicing Reiki... not how complicated, or how elaborate, or from what teacher one has learned Reiki.
If you KEEP IT SIMPLE... it will be instantly available... like MAGIC...
